The reason why the capacity is given as a range (e.g., 5-7 kg for the 5H model) is that we use water as the reference substance.
Specifically, when the solution placed on the tray has a thickness of 1 cm, a batch capacity of 5 kg can be achieved; if the thickness of the water is 1.6 cm, the capacity can reach 7 kg.
However, in freeze-drying processes, a solution that is too thick often makes it difficult to achieve effective freeze-drying (or "hinders efficient freeze-drying").
You can take a look at our older freeze dryer models—their displays were fixed directly on the machines. Let me share a quick story: One day, my 1.32-meter-tall son (that’s about 43.3 inches) wanted to check the screen to see the machine’s status—kids are always so curious about how things work, after all! But the fixed display made it really hard for him to see clearly.
