Loading Capacity Guide — SJ-08H
Weigh a sample to estimate tray and batch capacity. Check this model’s area basis, weighed-sample method and liquid-loading examples.

Model designation: SJ-08H is the primary public model. SJIA-08H may appear in factory records, nameplates, quotations, or earlier technical documents; both refer to the same SJIALAB equipment model.

SJ-08H food freeze dryer overview

The SJ-08H is rated for 8-12 kg/batch of reference fresh material and provides 0.81 m2 of usable tray area. A step up from the 05H when tray area matters more than the smallest footprint, while the project is still small-batch.

It is best considered for regular household use, product development, and early sales. Typical applications include fruit snacks, vegetables, candy, pet treats, and prepared-food trials. The actual fresh load varies with product density, water content, cut size, tray fill depth, and the drying recipe.

How to interpret the batch capacity

The capacity is a sizing reference, not a guaranteed load for every food. A thin layer of sliced fruit dries differently from a deep tray of puree, cooked rice, meat, or pet food. For reliable model selection, compare usable tray area and water load as well as kilograms per batch.

Where SJ-08H fits in the range

SJ-08H occupies a specific step in the H-series small food freeze dryer range. For the nearest capacity choices, compare SJ-05H (5-7 kg/batch) and SJ-10H Smart (10-15 kg/batch). The series comparison page shows the full capacity progression.

What to confirm before ordering

  • Product type, slice or piece thickness, and expected fresh load per cycle
  • Required electrical supply and local frequency
  • Preferred condenser-temperature configuration and vacuum-pump arrangement
  • Available floor space, ventilation, drainage, and cleaning workflow
  • Target residual moisture, packaging method, and expected batches per week

SJ-08H FAQ

Is 8-12 kg/batch the finished dry-product weight?

No. It is a reference fresh-material load. Finished weight depends mainly on the starting moisture content and the final moisture target.

Can SJ-08H process different foods?

Yes. The equipment can support multiple food categories, but each product needs its own preparation, tray loading, freezing method, cycle settings, cleaning, and packaging plan.

Method and source boundaries

These are calculated operating-energy references, not independently measured results for this model. Reference load, drying duration and final moisture require model-specific test validation.

The reference profile contains 493 points at 3-minute spacing, summarized as 10-minute time-weighted means. It is not a complete one-minute measurement record for this model.

Energy is integrated from the reference active-power profile using linear interpolation and trapezoidal integration. A point 12 seconds before the start supports the opening boundary; the final value is held for the last 24 seconds.

October 15–16, 2026 is the corrected reference timeline, not the date of an independently completed test on this model. The last table column is cumulative energy from the reference start; do not sum it.

How to use this reference for food trials

Pure water and food do not dry in the same way. Material, initial moisture, layer thickness, loading, freezing, shelf conditions and the chosen drying endpoint affect time and energy. The reference timeline is not a promised food-cycle duration.

For a food trial, record material, initial and final mass, layer thickness and the verified endpoint. Compare kWh per kg of water actually removed. Electricity cost equals batch kWh multiplied by the local electricity tariff.
