From a process brief to a defined equipment scope

SJ has worked with freeze-drying equipment since 2012. Our company-wide delivery figures include laboratory systems; they are not a count of pharmaceutical production installations. A useful project starts with your material, container, prepared load, destination and site utilities.

• Pioneer and Creator: laboratory samples, formulation work and pilot development. Confirm the exact S, ST and Max configuration, shelf geometry and stoppering requirement.
• Command: pharmaceutical vial and production projects requiring a defined loading, control and documentation scope.
• H and FFD: food processing from small batches to industrial lines. Reference fresh load is not finished-product weight or guaranteed daily output.

Command and FFD customization

We review shelf or tray layout, vial or cart loading, chamber interfaces, materials, controls, refrigeration, site power and project documentation against the intended application. Standard equipment, priced options, engineering changes and customer-supplied items should be separated in the quotation. A proposed change becomes part of the order only after feasibility and scope are agreed.

Quality evidence for purchasing and engineering teams

Before ordering, ask for records tied to the proposed model and configuration: drawings, component specifications, electrical information and a factory acceptance test plan. Agree test conditions, instruments, acceptance criteria and the records to be delivered. A workshop video helps assess construction and access; it does not by itself prove drying performance or process validation.

For selected H models, model-specific electrical safety reports and CE-related documents are available for review. Match the model, voltage, frequency, report standard and scope to the equipment being purchased. Testing to a UL standard is not the same as UL Listing. Documents and support to agree before delivery

• Equipment documents: specify the manual, drawings, utility requirements and recommended spare-parts information required for your order.
• Acceptance and qualification: agree FAT/SAT and IQ/OQ support where needed. Commissioning is not product or process validation; PQ is not automatically included.
• Training and service: define operator training, remote assistance, on-site work if required, warranty terms and responsibilities for the destination.
• Traceability: identify the contracting entity, manufacturing entity, nameplate model and support route in the order documents.

Compare proposals on the same configuration, test and service basis, not only the machine price. For energy comparisons, distinguish installed kW from measured kWh and record the load, endpoint and included utilities.

Send your application, target batch or daily output, vial/tray dimensions, installation country and available utilities. Include a room layout or URS when available; unknown values can remain unknown at the first discussion.
